SUNDAY BRIEF #5 · AUGUST 17–23, 2026

Saturday stacks Ed Sheeran, BTS, the Argos, and the CNE

The Blue Jays are away all week, and the calendar fills in anyway. Ed Sheeran plays Rogers Centre Thursday through Saturday, the CNE opens Friday at Exhibition Place, and BTS plays Rogers Stadium in Downsview Saturday and Sunday. Saturday layers those three zones with an Argos game at BMO Field and evening shows at RBC Amphitheatre and Scotiabank Arena. TTC Line 1 closes early on weeknights between Lawrence West and St George, GO adjusts Barrie line service all week, and Line 2 opens late Sunday morning. No Gardiner or DVP closures are announced; Highway 401 keeps nightly lane and ramp work plus the around-the-clock Progress Avenue on-ramp closure.

NIGHTLY LANE AND RAMP WORK

No daytime mainline closures this week, but nightly lane work runs on the eastbound express and collector lanes through several stretches — near Kipling Avenue, Weston Road, Yonge Street, Leslie Street, Victoria Park Avenue, and Neilson Road — mostly 10 PM to 6 AM, plus nightly ramp work where Highway 400 meets the 401. The eastbound on-ramp at Progress Avenue stays closed around the clock through October 9. If one of these on-ramps is your entrance, use the next one over.
