SUNDAY BRIEF #9 · SEPTEMBER 14–20, 2026

Heavy all week with no Severe day, and Line 1 closes St Clair to College all weekend

The Blue Jays host Detroit Monday through Wednesday, TIFF runs its final week around King Street West, and RBC Amphitheatre has a concert five nights out of seven, so the load sits downtown and on the western waterfront all week. Saturday adds the Argonauts at BMO Field and the Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena, but nothing stacks high enough to reach Severe — every day holds at Heavy, unlike last week, which peaked at Severe on the holiday Monday. No Gardiner or DVP closures are announced; Highway 401 closes its westbound express lanes nightly between Renforth Drive and Winston Churchill Boulevard, and its westbound collector lanes overnight between Meadowvale Road and Neilson Road Monday to Wednesday nights. TTC’s Line 1 ends nightly at 11:59 PM between St Clair and College stations Monday through Friday, then shuttle buses replace trains on that stretch all day Saturday and Sunday, and GO runs no Barrie line trains between Downsview Park GO and Union Station on the weekend.
