SUNDAY BRIEF #10 · SEPTEMBER 21–27, 2026
Heavy all week again, and Line 1’s early closures move to weeknights
The Blue Jays play three road games at Baltimore before returning home Friday through Sunday against Cincinnati, Zach Bryan plays back-to-back nights at Rogers Centre Monday and Tuesday, and RBC Amphitheatre or Scotiabank Arena has a show every night of the week. Wednesday’s Maple Leafs game against the Senators is preseason, and Saturday stacks the Jays, Canada’s men’s national soccer team hosting Chile at BMO Field, and two Scotiabank/RBC-tier concerts into the week’s busiest window — every day still holds at Heavy, matching last week. No Gardiner or DVP closures are announced beyond the standing Logan Avenue and Park Lawn Road ramp closures and the Eastern Avenue DVP ramp; the Gardiner’s collector lanes lose two of three westbound lanes overnight near Islington and Kipling avenues through Friday night for bridge work. Highway 401 has nightly ramp and lane work at several interchanges but no daytime or mainline closures. TTC’s Line 1 moves its early closures from the weekend to weeknights, ending nightly at 11:59 PM between St Clair and College Monday through Thursday, and GO’s Lakeshore East and Stouffville lines have weekend construction.

OVERNIGHT COLLECTOR LANE CLOSURE, ISLINGTON TO KIPLINGNo full Gardiner closures are announced for this week in the City’s planned closure list. The permanent westbound Lake Shore Blvd E on-ramp to the Gardiner at Logan Avenue and the Park Lawn Road ramp to the westbound Gardiner (through December 31) stay closed, and Lake Shore Boulevard West keeps its daytime lane restriction between Yonge Street and Bay Street, 9 AM to 4 PM, for Gardiner repair work through October 31. City records also show the Gardiner Collector’s westbound lanes down to one of three between Islington Avenue and Kipling Avenue, 11 PM to 5 AM nightly, through Friday night, for bridge work.

NIGHTLY RAMP AND LANE CLOSURES, NO DAYTIME CLOSURESNo full or daytime closures of the 401’s express or collector lanes this week — every closure below is overnight. The eastbound on-ramp at Progress Avenue and the westbound collector off-ramp at Markham Road stay closed around the clock and nightly through October 9. Full overnight ramp closures, 11 PM to 5 AM, stack through the week: the westbound on-ramp at Allen Road (tonight through Thursday night), the westbound on-ramp at Keele Street (Tuesday through Friday night), the eastbound express off-ramp to Highway 404 (Tuesday through Friday night, about midnight to 5 AM), and the eastbound collector off-ramp at Allen Road (Wednesday through Friday night). The westbound express lanes lose a lane between Warden Avenue and Highway 404 nightly through September 29, and two left lanes of the eastbound collector close between Brimley Road and Markham Road nightly from Friday night through Monday morning. Nightly partial-lane work also continues eastbound near Morningside Avenue and westbound near Dixie Road, among other stretches. If one of these ramps is yours, use the next one over.
